PURPOSE & STRATEGIC PLAN
Purpose

The mission of the TNP PAC is to help elect and keep in office state public officials and candidates, without regard to party affiliation, who support legislative priorities that promote improving patient access to quality health care and nurse practitioners as healthcare providers. The TNP PAC also facilitates nurse practitioner voter education and outreach. The TNP PAC Advisory Council is the governance body for the TNP PAC. Members of the TNP PAC Advisory Council will discuss and approve all political contributions from the TNP PAC, provide guidance on decisions such as candidate endorsements, and support grassroots fundraising and voter education efforts.

Term Limits: 2 year terms, max of 3, two year terms or a total of 6 years.

MEETINGS

Scheduling

The majority of committee meetings will be held via conference call or before or after regularly scheduled board meetings. A notice should be sent to members of the committee at least two weeks prior to the meeting. If the meeting is being held via conference call, please try to limit the call to one hour.

Committee Minutes

The chair is responsible for making sure that minutes are provided to the Executive Director of TNP within one week of the meeting. The chair can delegate this to another committee member.

Attendance

An attendance list should be completed for each meeting.  Please include the names of those participating in the minutes. If a member misses more than 50% of meetings they may be removed from the committee.

Ex Officio Members

The President and the Executive Director are ex-officio members of all committees. A committee chair may request that either or both of these individuals participate in an upcoming meeting.
