Description:

As a Nurse Planner, you will collaborate with others to design high-quality continuing nursing professional development (NCPD) activities that address practice gaps, support lifelong learning, and improve patient care.

 

Responsibilities include:

  •  Identify professional practice gaps and underlying educational needs.
  • Develop measurable learning outcomes and educational plans.
  • Select appropriate professional competencies and educational strategies.
  • Ensure educational activities are evidence-based and free from commercial bias.
  • Review and complete required planning documentation.
  • Participate in evaluation of educational activities and identify opportunities for improvement.
  •  Communicate with planning committee members, faculty, and the primary nurse planner throughout the planning process.
  • Attend quarterly Nurse Planner meetings and required orientation activities.

Qualifications

  • An active, unrestricted RN license.
  • Board certification and licensure as a nurse practitioner.
  • At least one year of clinical practice experience.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
  • An interest in education, professional development, and lifelong learning.
  • Preferred: Previous experience in nursing education, academic teaching, professional development, ANCC NCPD, or continuing education activities.

TNP will provide a structured onboarding program, resources, mentorship, and ongoing support to prepare Nurse Planners for success.

 

Estimated Time Commitment

The anticipated commitment includes:

  • Approximately 3-5 hours / monthly
  • Attendance at quarterly Nurse Planner meetings (approximately one hour each)
