Cindy Weston, DNP, APRN, CNS-CC, FNP-BC, CHSE is the Associate Dean for Clinical and Outreach Affairs/Associate Professor at Texas A&M University School of Nursing. Dr. Weston completed her BSN from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, her MSN as a critical care clinical nurse specialist from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston followed by a post-Master’s FNP certificate at Texas Tech Health Science Center and her Doctor of Nursing Practice from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. Dr. Weston has been a co-recipient of over $10 million in funding to implement nurse-practitioner-led prevention and screening services, Simulation in APRN programs, integrated behavioral healthcare models and improving health outcomes in vulnerable populations. Dr. Weston is certified as a Simulation Healthcare Educator and currently serves on the simulation committee for the National Organization of Nurse Practitioner Faculties (NONPF), the International Nursing Association of Clinical and Simulation Learning (INACSL) Conference Planning Committee, and the Practice Leadership Network of the American Association of Colleges of Nursing. She is the current President for the Texas Nurse Practitioners Association and is focused on increasing access to care for all Texans.
